November 2009 Columbus Vegan Meetup Recap ~ Thanksgiving Potluck

Greetings, vegan compatriots!

Well, somehow... while we all weren't looking... autumn descended upon us, I guess. But you really wouldn't have known it from the awe-inspiring weather that greeted us last Saturday for our Thanksgiving Potluck meetup! The sun was shining as bright as can be through the windows when the 51 attendees, from both the vegan and vegetarian meetup groups, gathered together inside, amidst heaps and gobs of fantabulous food.

The well-appointed, open space, courtesy of art collective, Wild Goose Creative, provided a pleasing backdrop for hearty camaraderie, games for the kids, and seemingly unlimited regalement. From various yummy potato concoctions to savory stuffings and delectable sauces... flavorful faux meat dishes, tasty veggie creations and on and on... and, oh my! The desserts! Need I say more. I think not.

Several folks talked of upcoming events in the community worthy of our attention, such as the Sunrise Sanctuary Thanksgiving For The Turkeys and the upcoming Mercy For Animals Celebrating Compassion Gala.

Afterwards, in a gallant attempt to walk off a bit of the day's ample indulgences (okay... at least, mine!), several curious souls perused the colorful booths and corridors of this year's Tiny Canary Indie Design Market at Junctionview Studios, offering food for the soul to accompany that nestled in our tummies.

All in all, a fanciful day, I think... filled with renewals of old acquaintances and the fashioning of new friendships. I truly hope everyone had a wonderful time!
