I've always been interested in sustainable living, simple living, and environmental impacts. After learning about horrendous conditions in factory farming I stopped eating meat, and eventually became vegan. Vegan = healthy + clean conscience.
I'm vegan to protest factory farming, promote sustainable living practices in a planet with finite resources, and because it makes me feel great. As a side benefit, I feel healthier than ever.

"Aleta, Heather, and Ryan -- Thank you so much for the advice. I get grief about my diet all the time -- so its helpful to have something concrete about protein and how to get it...."
"Hi everybody, Sorry I couldn't make it to the last meetup but I have a serious question for all of you. I'm having trouble getting enough protein? I think the recommendation is 50 grams daily and I would be happy to make 40...."
"The falafels at Mamoun's are truly one of my favorite indulgences --and the place is open until 3 a.m. What more could you want?"
"Thali's food is delicious --and the setting gorgeous --but a bit on the pricey side."
"How about Edge of the Woods deli in New Haven --along Whalley Ave. It's a vegetarian icon with delicious dairy-free, egg-free food...."
"May I suggest meeting up on the weekend. Maria"
"I'm game. Yay. But the reason it's empty is that the quality of Ahimsa's food is uneven. The first couple of times I went, I raved about it to friends. The next couple of times it was rather bland, not much spice. No flavor = no customers...."
